RogersTV to broadcast 3 football games in '12

WATERLOO, Ont. (August 23, 2012) - The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks and RogersTV are pleased to announce a partnership for the 2012 season that will see three of the four Golden Hawks' football home games broadcast live on RogersTV.

The agreement begins with the Golden Hawks second home game, Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m., against the York Lions and will also see Laurier's home games against Guelph (Homecoming - September 29) and Waterloo (October 4) broadcast on RogersTV Waterloo Region.

The Laurier-York game will also be shown live on RogersTV Toronto.

"This is a very exciting announcement for us to make as we will have all four of our home games, including theScore broadcast on September 8, shown live this season," commented Wilfrid Laurier Director of Athletics and Recreation Peter Baxter. "These will also us to reach our fans that are unable to attend live at University Stadium and give television networks access to highlight packages which will reach fans outside of the broadcast region."?

In total, six of the Hawks' eight regular season games will be on television this year as RogersTV London will broadcast their October 13 game against the Western Mustangs in London while their final regular season game against McMaster is slated to be shown on Cable 14 in Hamilton.

Laurier's other two road game against Toronto (September 3) and Ottawa (September 22) will be broadcast live online via SSN Canada.
